There was a big demonstration about 3 blocks from our place, by Alcoa workers trying to stop their plant from being shut down.  There were helicopters going over all day, but I thought it was related to something going on at the President's house, where there were a lot of police this morning.  The demonstration was at the Ministry of Economic Development, not at the Pres's house. I went out a couple of times but everything looked totally normal - Tourists walking around, etc.  This picture is from NBC news online.
