Today is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, on which the Pope comes to Piazza di Spagna and puts a wreath on the arm of a statue of Mary (or does a blessing while someone gets way up there to Mary on top of the pole). We did our best to avoid the actual Pope area. Went into this nearby church that we hadn't been into yet, then went to a restaurant for lunch, then went to see a display of 100 hand-made creches.
Basilica dei Santi Ambrogio e Carlo al Corso:
Christmas lights on via dei due Macelli. In this area, each street is totally lit up, with a different kind of lights.
